Yesterday’s annual Groundhog Day post concluded with these words:
“Let’s make the most of the time we’ve got, eh?”
It’s these words I want to build on; stay tuned for a deep message.
A week or so ago I mentioned to the good lady wife her indoors that the biker haunt, the Jack’s Hill Cafe and Truckstop, Towcester, is no more. I said the only place in that area serving the exclusive motorbiking community with a hearty All Day Breakfast was Super Sausage. By some magical intuitive connection and without any pause in the conversation, she said I should arrange to meet up with Young Masher because it’s been a while since he and I went out and jointly scared motorists from the comfort and safety of our two-wheeled chariots. I said that was a fine idea. Then she said that we should arrange to do it sooner, rather than later, because one day we may not be able to.
See? I told you it was deep.
Anyway, yes, I need to get out on the bike more. I also need to frighten more motorists, I’ve not scared nearly enough of them lately. And meeting up with Young Masher would be a good idea. But the serious thought here is that time is passing. We should all be doing things we want to do, and we should be doing them now. Because tomorrow we may not be able to.
Happy to meet up a share a sausage with you, old boy.
The problem with the SS now, is that with nothing else in the area, it gets busy.
Very, very busy.
But, we shouldn’t let that stop us.
But yes, let’s not just talk about it, let’s do it.
Get your people to talk to my people and we’ll make it happen.
While we still can.
Maybe we should look not to the sausage, but cast our eyes elsewhere. I shall drop you a line and we can kick around a few ideas.
