Again."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had <a title=\"Starting problem\" href=\"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=10200\" target=\"_blank\">the same starting problem<\/a>, yesterday morning, with the Daytona.<\/p>\n<p>The engine turned over, full of beans and with the normal enthusiasm, but it was as if she was getting no fuel.<\/p>\n<p>I tried several times.<\/p>\n<p>Then I\u00a0wheeled the bike out of the garage (for a bit more room), sat aboard and gave it a good series of side-to-side shakes.<\/p>\n<p>Then I tried again.<\/p>\n<p>There was the same enthusiastic starter motor action, and then the engine, reluctantly at first, coughed in to life, and settled down to her normal three-cylinder song.<\/p>\n<p>I took the Daytona for a 60-mile spin, and then rested up for a while &#8211; long enough for the block to get stone cold.<\/p>\n<p>She started first time, and in her usual normal manner.<\/p>\n<p>Sludge in the tank?<\/p>\n<p>Blocked fuel line?<\/p>\n<p>Dicky fuel pump?<\/p>\n<p>Clogged fuel filter?<\/p>\n<p>I think the problem is one &#8211; or possibly a combination &#8211; of these.<\/p>\n<p>So on Wednesday she&#8217;s going in to\u00a0<a title=\"Ramp and Wrench\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rampandwrench.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ramp and Wrench<\/a>, to have the fuel tank drained, removed, fuel filter changed, and to have the fuel pipe given a blow-through.<\/p>\n<p>The only possible fault this won&#8217;t pay attention to is the fuel pump, but if the problem happens again &#8211; after this &#8211; we&#8217;ll know where to look.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had the same starting problem, yesterday morning, with the Daytona.
