{"id":10274,"date":"2014-10-27T11:56:59","date_gmt":"2014-10-27T11:56:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=10274"},"modified":"2014-10-27T12:01:57","modified_gmt":"2014-10-27T12:01:57","slug":"locking-up-wheels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=10274","title":{"rendered":"Locking up wheels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I realise that social media is a magnifier, that it is the Daily Mail of the internet.<\/p>\n<p>Everything bad is going to happen.<\/p>\n<p>Everything you enjoy doing is going to make you unwell.<\/p>\n<p>And so on.<\/p>\n<p>But the scary amount of motorbike thefts that I have heard about in the last couple of weeks have energised me to do something.<\/p>\n<p>The final straw was hearing about the theft &#8211; from his locked garage &#8211; of Jody&#8217;s brand new Blade.<\/p>\n<p>It seems that having the normal, factory-fitted steering lock, no longer stops criminals from stealing one&#8217;s treasured two-wheeled possession.<\/p>\n<p>So, even though my bikes are kept in my locked garage overnight, I went out and bought a pair of bright yellow disk locks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/\/2014\/10\/41-uuCHknvL._SX300_.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10275\" src=\"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/\/2014\/10\/41-uuCHknvL._SX300_.jpg\" alt=\"41+uuCHknvL._SX300_\" width=\"300\" height=\"219\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/41-uuCHknvL._SX300_.jpg 300w, https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/41-uuCHknvL._SX300_-205x150.jpg 205w, https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/41-uuCHknvL._SX300_-150x109.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>These little, hi-visibility goodies, just lock on to the front disk of your bike, immobilising it completely.<\/p>\n<p>The added bonus of these locks is, unlike the heavy steel chain and clunky padlock that I bought last year, these devices are light enough to be carried in a rucksack.<\/p>\n<p>And for just \u00a323 each, why wouldn&#8217;t buying these be a good idea?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I realise that social media is a magnifier, that it is the Daily Mail of the internet.
