If a little of what you fancy does you good, what does a lot of what you fancy do you?<\/p>\n
I’m talking about industrial-sized quantities of what you fancy.<\/p>\n
Because lately I seem to be on a huge geekfest.<\/p>\n
A geekbinge.<\/p>\n
A cornucopia of geekness.<\/p>\n
An overflowing cup of geek.<\/p>\n
It all started with a lot of thinking about one specific thing.<\/p>\n
Which I’ve been doing since before Christmas.<\/p>\n
The thinking, not the thing.<\/p>\n
Although I have started the thing now.<\/p>\n
But more of that thing on another occasion.<\/p>\n
Then, a few weeks later, and with some valuable assistance, I managed to finish building the new desk in the new studio.<\/p>\n
Once the desk had been finished, it only took me a couple of hours to complete the cabling.<\/p>\n
And then, after something of a hiatus, the podcast<\/a> was able to return\u00a0to the airwaves.<\/p>\n Not actual airwaves, obv.<\/p>\n Then I replaced the keyboard on this laptop.<\/p>\n Then I bought some servers.<\/p>\n Ahem.<\/p>\n And a server cabinet.<\/p>\n Since then I’ve been reading up on Linux<\/a> in general, and RHEL<\/a> and CentOS<\/a> in particular.<\/p>\n And I’ve been getting very familiar with various virtualisation tools.<\/p>\n But I probably won’t use ESXi or ESX Server<\/a>.<\/p>\n I’ll use the native virtualisation feature\u00a0in CentOS.<\/p>\n When I say ‘reading up’ on Linux, I mean that I have been really reading up.<\/p>\n Three huge industry text books.<\/p>\n I started with:\u00a0Linux for Beginners: An Introduction to the Linux Operating System and Command Line.<\/p>\n Then I read:\u00a0Centos 6 Linux Server Cookbook<\/p>\n And at the moment I’m working my way through: The Linux Bible.<\/p>\n
