I love rhetorical questions, don’t you?<\/p>\n

One\u00a0can pose the question, disconnect ones logical self, and let the\u00a0mind flow, free-form, through the almost endless field of possible answers.<\/p>\n

Without reality restrictions.<\/p>\n

And sometimes the\u00a0aimlessly meandering imagination might come back with an original thought – something so unexpected, and yet right (even something attainable), that it makes you sit up and say ‘yes!’.<\/p>\n

And then you put together a plan of action, to help you achieve this previously unthought thing.<\/p>\n

I have a friend who, pretty much out of the blue, has just committed to do the awesomely gruelling Woods, Obstacles, Lakes, and Fields (Wolf) Run<\/a> in a few months time.<\/p>\n

That’s a hell of an inspiring thing to undertake.<\/p>\n

I’d be tempted if I was allowed to run.<\/p>\n

Which I’m not.<\/p>\n

Because, you know, three cruciate ligament repairs and a cartilage removal, all to the same knee, don’t make for the best conditions in which to undertake gruelling, high-impact sports.<\/p>\n

But yes, notwithstanding my physical restriction, I would be very tempted.<\/p>\n

But if you sat down right now, and – in a rhetorical frame – asked yourself what you would like to achieve before the 31st of December this year…<\/p>\n

Where would your free-flowing mind wander?<\/p>\n

Do the Wolf Run?<\/p>\n

Learn to play a musical instrument?<\/p>\n

Learn to fly?<\/p>\n

Travel to an exotic place?<\/p>\n

Learn a new craft?<\/p>\n

Take a course in something?<\/p>\n

Get back in to horse riding?<\/p>\n

All of the above?<\/p>\n

Something entirely different?<\/p>\n

Where would it lead you?<\/p>\n

I have a list.<\/p>\n

It’s not a big list, but there are a couple of things that occurred to me, as I let my mind freeflow, while I drove the 125 miles to work on Monday morning, that I would like to do this year.<\/p>\n

A couple.<\/p>\n

I shall allow my thoughts to freeflow some more.<\/p>\n

And we shall see what we shall see.<\/p>\n

Anyway, while you think about it, I’m just going to take this server down to apply a couple of patches to the operating system.<\/p>\n
