{"id":10512,"date":"2015-02-13T18:49:59","date_gmt":"2015-02-13T18:49:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=10512"},"modified":"2015-02-13T18:49:59","modified_gmt":"2015-02-13T18:49:59","slug":"blogathon-1315-50-shades-of-bosal-customer-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=10512","title":{"rendered":"Blogathon 13\/15 \u2013 50 shades of Bosal customer service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some time ago I arranged for someone to come and fit a towbar to my car.<\/p>\n<p>The towbar fitter duly arrived at the appointed hour on the appointed day.<\/p>\n<p>While I made him a cup of tea, he ferreted (it&#8217;s a technical towbar-fitting term, trust me) about beneath the rear of the car for a few minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Then he came to see me.<\/p>\n<p>TBF: &#8220;You&#8217;ve already got one&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Me: (eyeing the towbar hitch-less rear of the car) &#8220;Erm&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>TBF: &#8220;No, really. You&#8217;ve got the frame. And all of the electrics are fitted, for a removable towbar&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Me: &#8220;Erm&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>TBF: &#8220;It&#8217;s made by a company called Bosal. If you google them, you should be able to get them to supply a replacement detachable neck for the frame&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Wow.<\/p>\n<p>So the next day I \u00a0followed the TBFs suggestion.<\/p>\n<p>Bosal relieved me of a fair lump of money, but it was still cheaper than having to get a new towbar fitted.<\/p>\n<p>Today I came to use it.<\/p>\n<p>I picked up the box that the towbar neck had been delivered in, strode purposefully out to the car and ripped the packaging open:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Removable towbar neck<\/li>\n<li>Dust cover<\/li>\n<li>Cotton gloves (that&#8217;s a nice touch, I thought), and<\/li>\n<li>An instruction book printed in half a dozen languages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This being me, I read the English section of the instruction book. Then I read the Spanish section, and corrected the grammar.<\/p>\n<p>Then I looked for the locking key.<\/p>\n<p>You know.<\/p>\n<p>The locking key that the instructions say I need to lock the assembly in place with, once I&#8217;ve fitted it to the car?<\/p>\n<p>That locking key.<\/p>\n<p>Yes.<\/p>\n<p>The locking key that wasn&#8217;t included in the things that Bosal had sent down.<\/p>\n<p>Uh-huh.<\/p>\n<p>So next week I&#8217;ll be back on the blower to Bosal.<\/p>\n<p>I suppose I should have checked everything when it arrived.<\/p>\n<p>But you don&#8217;t, do you?<\/p>\n<p>Or at least I didn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some time ago I arranged for someone to come and fit a towbar to my car.
