I’ve stolen this idea from Young Masher<\/a>. I am shameless. And lacking apology.<\/p>\n

So anyway.<\/p>\n

I’ve had a huge amount of health & safety training, since I started my new job.<\/p>\n

My employer is hot on health and safety.<\/p>\n

As in engineering health & safety.<\/p>\n

At a senior management away day, recently, we looked at H&S snapshot indicators, as well as looking at predictive indicators.<\/p>\n

I loved the science behind the predictive indicators.<\/p>\n

‘Ladies and Gentlemen, our next incident is probably going to happen here’<\/p>\n

*taps map on the wall*<\/p>\n

‘And here’s what we’re going to do about it’<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

OK, so it didn’t quite happen that way.<\/p>\n

But it could have.<\/p>\n

The thing is, or so I’m told, engineers are globally pretty rubbish at predicting safety failures.<\/p>\n

They’re the guys who say ‘I didn’t expect that to happen!’<\/p>\n

In my health & safety training we have been told the big details about them all.<\/p>\n
