{"id":11389,"date":"2016-05-15T15:17:28","date_gmt":"2016-05-15T14:17:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=11389"},"modified":"2016-05-15T19:12:01","modified_gmt":"2016-05-15T18:12:01","slug":"road2recovery-2016-charity-ride-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=11389","title":{"rendered":"Road2Recovery 2016 Charity Ride Out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday was the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.claireschallenge.co.uk\/#!about1\/c1aqs\" target=\"_blank\">Claire Lomas<\/a> 2016 Road2Recovery ride out.<\/p>\n<p>The weather stayed dry but chilly.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know how many motorcyclists turned up, but I&#8217;m guessing a couple of hundred.<\/p>\n<p>I also don&#8217;t know the precise route, if was very indirect, and used rural roads, but the convoy went through (amongst other places)\u00a0Melton Mowbray, Oakham, and Market Harborough before arriving at Wistow Rural Centre.<\/p>\n<p>At Wistow there was a band, food, drink, a bike show, and a lot of sunshine.<\/p>\n<p>Claire led the ride down the two-mile drive of the starting venue, on her converted Suzuki SV650.<\/p>\n<p>Then she switched to riding pillion for the public roads part of the journey.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11390\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11390\" style=\"width: 720px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11390\" src=\"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Ckaire.jpg\" alt=\"Claire Lomas\" width=\"720\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Ckaire.jpg 720w, https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Ckaire-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Ckaire-113x150.jpg 113w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11390\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Claire Lomas<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It was an excellent day out.<\/p>\n<p>Well organised, neatly marshalled, and with good entertainment laid on.<\/p>\n<p>The ride raised \u00a31,540 for\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nsif.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tbex.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Bike Experience<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday was the Claire Lomas 2016 Road2Recovery ride out.
