{"id":11523,"date":"2016-06-23T06:17:26","date_gmt":"2016-06-23T05:17:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=11523"},"modified":"2016-06-24T22:01:23","modified_gmt":"2016-06-24T21:01:23","slug":"music-challenge-day-232016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=11523","title":{"rendered":"Music Challenge: Day 23\/2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>A song that I can play on an instrument<\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I can play (really badly) the rhythm guitar parts of most of Pink Floyd&#8217;s back-catalogue.<\/p>\n<p>I generally lack the creative imagination to do my own thing with the work of Wright, Waters, Gilmour, and Mason.<\/p>\n<p>Besides, why would I want to muck about with something that&#8217;s too good to muck about with?<\/p>\n<p>But there is a song that I can play; a song that I put my own distinctive style on.<\/p>\n<p>I play it on my Gibson SG.<\/p>\n<p>I run the guitar through my Thunderbird amp, where I introduce some reverb, some echo, and quite a lot of co-channel distortion.<\/p>\n<p>I slow the tempo &#8211; keeping it in 4\/4 time, but slowing the tempo by almost 1\/3rd.<\/p>\n<p>Fuzzed up, slowed down, and with a huge amount of reverb and quite a lot of distortion, my version of \u2018Knights In White Satin\u2019 is fun to play (even if it isn&#8217;t quite as much fun for anyone else to listen to).<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the original.
