{"id":11553,"date":"2016-07-01T05:51:23","date_gmt":"2016-07-01T04:51:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=11553"},"modified":"2016-07-03T20:00:56","modified_gmt":"2016-07-03T19:00:56","slug":"motorcycle-emptiness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=11553","title":{"rendered":"Motorcycle Emptiness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><del>Is it possible to get bored of riding a 1,000cc, 200mph Supersports bike?<\/del><\/p>\n<p><del>Asking for a friend.<\/del><\/p>\n<p>No.<\/p>\n<p>Last week my commutes were in the car.<\/p>\n<p>It is brand spanking new; had 7 miles on the clock when it was delivered.<\/p>\n<p>Normally I commute on the ZX10R, but the weather was dire last week.<\/p>\n<p>So I made the daily round-trip in the car.<\/p>\n<p>And with every mile I travelled in the car, the sheen of the ZX10R seemed to become slightly more dull.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know why, it just did.<\/p>\n<p>And then, yesterday, there was a break in the rain, so I took the Ninja out for a little trip.<\/p>\n<p>Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, back in to Leicestershire, and Nottinghamshire.<\/p>\n<p>I travelled across some fantastic English countryside, and through some beautiful villages.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes I rode the Ninja as if it was a tourer, sometimes I opened the throttle and rode\u00a0it hard, like the breathtaking supersports bike that it is.<\/p>\n<p>I have no idea how I could feel remotely bored with it.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe riding it to work on the same roads (weather permitting) day in, day out, was the cause?<\/p>\n<p>Maybe the new car seduced me.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever it was, it&#8217;s gone now.<\/p>\n<p>I do wonder if I will ever be brave enough to switch the engine output to &#8216;full&#8217;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Is it possible to get bored of riding a 1,000cc, 200mph Supersports bike?
