{"id":12609,"date":"2018-06-26T20:49:49","date_gmt":"2018-06-26T19:49:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=12609"},"modified":"2018-06-26T20:49:49","modified_gmt":"2018-06-26T19:49:49","slug":"blogathon-26-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=12609","title":{"rendered":"Blogathon 26\/18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Continuing the everyday look at everyday objects through the camera lens\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The temple of doom.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone who knows me, and I mean &#8216;who really, really, really,. really knows me&#8217;, knows how much I <del>love<\/del> hate shopping.<\/p>\n<p>Actually, to be fair and open and honest and stuff, I don&#8217;t really mind the whole shopping &#8216;experience&#8217;, as we call it these days.<\/p>\n<p>In the right place, at the right time, and under the correct set of circumstances, I tolerate shopping reasonably well.<\/p>\n<p>Some might even say that, under those somewhat unusual circumstances, I borderline enjoy shopping.<\/p>\n<p>If it&#8217;s done my way.<\/p>\n<p>Obv.<\/p>\n<p>My way is simple.<\/p>\n<p>A list.<\/p>\n<p>A rough idea of the layout of the store.<\/p>\n<p><del>No people<\/del> a very small number of people.<\/p>\n<p>Which is why I like to go shopping when there&#8217;s nobody else around.<\/p>\n<p>This evening we visited the Associated Dairies &#8216;supercentre&#8217; place in West Bridgford.<\/p>\n<p>It is a massive temple to the dog of consumerism, spread over <del>43<\/del> 2 floors of open-plan-football-fieldness.<\/p>\n<p>And yet, instead of the scene resembling one of Dante&#8217;s lesser-frequented circles of hell, the &#8216;shopping experience&#8217; was relatively painless.<\/p>\n<p>Almost, but not quite, enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p>But certainly tolerable.<\/p>\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12610\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12610\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12610\" src=\"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/20180626_194114-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Almost empty\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/20180626_194114-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/20180626_194114-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/20180626_194114-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/20180626_194114-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/20180626_194114-200x150.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12610\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Almost empty<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Continuing the everyday look at everyday objects through the camera lens\u2026 The temple of doom.
