{"id":13139,"date":"2020-03-10T08:59:51","date_gmt":"2020-03-10T08:59:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=13139"},"modified":"2020-03-10T08:59:51","modified_gmt":"2020-03-10T08:59:51","slug":"new-hobby-obsession","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=13139","title":{"rendered":"New hobby (obsession?)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I do appreciate Wikipedia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I make a small annual contribution to the service, and I regularly use it as a source of information (let&#8217;s face it, any website that no longer accepts links\/references to\/from the Daily Mail because &#8211; and I quote &#8211; &#8216;the Daily Mail is not a trusted source&#8217; can&#8217;t be all bad).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Largely run\/populated by volunteers, Wikipedia is not without its flaws, but overall it&#8217;s a Very Good Thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have discovered <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_defunct_consumer_brands\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"this page in Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)\">this page in Wikipedia<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, although it&#8217;s a page it is actually a dynamic list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I first stumbled on this dynamic list I realised that it had a very North American bias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So now I&#8217;m chipping away at it, adding more global information to make this a less American list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the moment I&#8217;m focused on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"in this sub-list (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_defunct_consumer_brands#Airlines\" target=\"_blank\">this sub-list<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Great fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What do you mean, get a life?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I do appreciate Wikipedia.
