The last few weekends I’ve been pretty busy outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I quite like being busy outside (ssssh, don’t tell anyone – taps finger against nose).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A couple of weekends ago I went a little mad with the power-washer and a few power tools (not at the same time, obv). All to good benefit though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fence between us and our neighbours is due (and, because of some of that power-washer action, is now ready for) some heavy wood preservative action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s a three day weekend, so lack of time shouldn’t be a problem; just the weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The caravan engineer popped out on Friday to give our van a full electrical, gas, and mechanical service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ironically one of the things we have all said we miss is the opportunity to hitch up and just go off for the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s ironic because we haven’t even managed to do that yet, having only travelled the caravan from Lincolnshire to home, and from home to the storage where she now lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We’ve decided that when we do get the new rig (see how I just dropped in the caravanning jargon there?) on the road, we’ll do a few weekends away, but not travel too far, just to get ourselves practised in the art of packing, towing, arriving, setting up, living in, packing, towing, getting home (etc).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We’ve joined the Camping and Motorhome Club (used to be the Camping and Caravan Club I think?), which gave us access to lots of helpful information and discounts and stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The information has been handy, but the only thing the discounts have saved is about 15% of the caravan insurance premium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before the start of lockdown we had booked a fortnight away, in August, which was going to be our big maiden voyage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
