Without even applying for membership, I seem to have joined a club. I am now a member of the South Nottinghamshire chapter of the ‘grey-haired, bearded man in shorts who gets up early and walks the dog(s) around the village while other people are still in bed’ fraternity. There were five of us out on our early-morning sojourn today. I don’t know if there’s a secret handshake or something, but we gave each other nods (like bikers are supposed to do but usually don’t).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I don’t know if there’s a probationary status or if I’m straight in with full membership and voting rights. I’ll ask the membership secretary, just as soon as I find out who that is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I did briefly wonder how the club complied with GDPR, but then I realised that no-one had actually collected any of my personal details in the first place. On this basis, it’s safe to assume that the club complies with all data protection regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
