The one that rattled through the letterbox this morning (and well done to BT for producing something that fits through the average letterbox) is a combination business and residential directory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/20220223_110911.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14317\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But the thing I&#8217;d like to point out is the colloquial phrasing. &#8216;Ey up me duck&#8217; is a phrase that is about as Nottinghamshire as it comes. Fair enough, a bit of localisation is quite cute. But I do wonder how phone books in other areas of the UK will be flavoured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Will we see &#8216;Alright butt&#8217; in South West Wales? &#8216;Awa&#8217; an bile yer heid&#8217; in Glasgae? &#8216;Are you aving a giraffe&#8217;? in that London? and &#8216;Alright my luvver&#8217; in the West Country?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So if you&#8217;ve got a local BT phone directory, feel free to let me know what the salutation on the front cover is.
