It is the hottest day of the year (so far). A balmy 30-degrees in these parts as I type these very words. We knew it was going to be warm because the weather forecast told us. Such a shame they didn’t get the forecast for Deganwy right last week, but never mind. Except I do. Obviously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s racing in Deganwy tomorrow, if anyone’s at a loose end. It’ll be an interesting day; a very wide variety of boats are taking part. The handicappers will have their work cut out! I shall be at home with the dogs. The girls are away for the weekend and the good lady wife her indoors is off to a wool convention (or similar) tomorrow. It’ll be me and the dogs and (by all accounts) a much cooler day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as being the hottest day of the year (so far), it is also this dickhead’s birthday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had a lovely walk across the top of the nearest hill (of any decent size), at 09.00, before the day warmed up. He chased birds, he chased smells, he chased smelly birds, bird smells, and things that might have been stood on by a bird once upon a time. And then he jumped into and waded through a drainage ditch. A lovely muddy drainage ditch half full of dirty brackish water. As a result he started to smell the moment I dragged him out. Proper stinkum smells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we got back home I tried to coax him into the doggy swimming pool. He wasn’t having any of that. The senior spaniel, however, tried to eat water from the hosepipe. So she was soaked and cool and fragrant, he was dry and stinky and hot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several times today I’ve tried to coax him into the doggy swimming pool and several times today he’s told me to that he’s not interested. I’ve managed to get him close enough to the hose to spray him with the ‘mist’ and ‘shower’ settings on the hose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The senior spaniel has spent so much time under the pipe\/in the doggy swimming pool that she’s now entered into the next Olympics. The junior spaniel smells like he’s a Young Farmer who has had a long day on the muckheap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
