{"id":182,"date":"2007-09-10T18:45:34","date_gmt":"2007-09-10T17:45:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=182"},"modified":"2012-05-05T00:37:51","modified_gmt":"2012-05-04T23:37:51","slug":"unwelcome-unlate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=182","title":{"rendered":"Unwelcome, unlate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>06.25 Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>I awake without an alarm.<\/p>\n<p>I notice two things.<\/p>\n<p>The very cold mug of hot chocolate that I fell asleep before drinking.<\/p>\n<p>My bed is broken.<\/p>\n<p>I can do something about the hot chocolate &#8211; but instead I resolve to drink it cold as soon as I&#8217;ve eaten breakfast.<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t do anything about the broken bed.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s broken because I am the only occupant.<\/p>\n<p>Is that why I&#8217;ve woken up so early on a Sunday;\u00a0because my body and\/or mind have noticed that The Lovely S isn&#8217;t here?<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s 06.30 now.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m too knackered to get out of bed but I force myself to.<\/p>\n<p>Downstairs I stagger about the kitchen and cobble together the ingredients of a mug of tea and a bowl of porridge.<\/p>\n<p>I return to my broken bed.<\/p>\n<p>And read &#8211; pausing to eat and drink tea.<\/p>\n<p>Miss her.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>B<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>06.25 Sunday.
