People who know me\/us will know that on a Friday evening we usually order in a couple of pizzas, make cups of tea, put on headphones, sit in front of a pair of microphones and juggle music, a mixing deck, a mastering console, two laptops and three monitors and record the weekend’s offering to This Reality Podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last night we didn’t.<\/p>\n

We started out as we usually do but Soph began ranting more than usual; she’d had a really shit day (which I knew, I just didn’t appreciate quite how shit her day had been). So we canned the session and went to bed, cuddled up and read.<\/p>\n

Today we went to the Vauxhall garage to buy a replacement bulb for my car, then picked up K and took her to the yard so she could ride Vin.<\/p>\n

While we were there I tried to sort out Vin’s lunging equipment because K said she’d like to work on his canter; I found the lunge-line and lunging whip but not the cavesson, which is a bit of a bummer.<\/p>\n

While K groomed, tacked up and rode Soph and I went to Chipping Norton for lunch – which was very nice indeed!<\/p>\n

While we were in Chippy we popped in to a TV store and bought a Component\/Scart converter for our new television.<\/p>\n

Then we drove back to the yard, picked up K, returned her to the train station and then came home.<\/p>\n

Our first attempt at the podcast ended in failure because the mastering software froze – I suspect that was due to a .net upgrade from that nice Mr Gates that came down the line just before we’d begun. Bless him.<\/p>\n

So I had to restart everything in the studio and we tried again and this time it all went swimmingly.<\/p>\n

While I typed up the notes in to the podcast webpage<\/a> Soph watched a film on our newly-working brand new television (don’t ask, it’s a long story but at least the bits we bought in Chippy made the green go away).<\/p>\n

And now… I don’t know.<\/p>\n

I think it goes something like this ‘and now we’re going to switch off our laptops, watch crap television for a little (Total Wipeout) and I’m going to delve back in to my book’ (Neil Gaiman’s ‘Neverwhere’ which I’m finding very addictive).<\/p>\n

Maybe some food later?<\/p>\n

And a reasonably early night?<\/p>\n
