{"id":207,"date":"2007-09-21T19:40:27","date_gmt":"2007-09-21T18:40:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=207"},"modified":"2012-05-04T16:30:35","modified_gmt":"2012-05-04T15:30:35","slug":"the-good-news-is","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=207","title":{"rendered":"The good news is"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Yes!<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>(stands up and punches the air as if he&#8217;d just scored the winning run in a Glamorgan v Essex match)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This is truly excellent news folks, gather round, hear the tidings and be very glad.<\/p>\n<p>ITV (God bless &#8217;em!) have decided not to televise the British Comedy Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The only slightly disappointing factor\u00c2\u00a0is they haven&#8217;t made this decision because the BCAs are crap television.<\/p>\n<p>Oh no.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;ve arrived at this decision because there have been &#8216;alleged\u00c2\u00a0irregularities&#8217; with the telephone voting.<\/p>\n<p>But hey, I don&#8217;t care! This is still brilliant.<\/p>\n<p>Now then, what we all need\u00a0to happen next is for the BBC to arrive at the same logic &#8211; also regarding\u00a0telephone voting irregularities, but this time with\u00a0the Eurovision Song Contest.<\/p>\n<p>Please?<\/p>\n<p>Once they&#8217;ve arrived at this decision (and let&#8217;s face it friends, how else can the vagaries of Euro-voting be explained away except with the word &#8216;irregularities&#8217;) and the British, nay, <em>European<\/em> television viewer can look forward to a nice big Euro-sized hole in the agony that has been our TV schedules for far too long.<\/p>\n<p>Brilliant!<br \/>\n<em>(goes off to the kitchen to make a celebratory cup of tea. I know how to live, eh?<\/em><br \/>\n<strong><em>B<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes!
