{"id":34,"date":"2007-06-20T09:28:09","date_gmt":"2007-06-20T08:28:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=34"},"modified":"2012-05-05T11:06:34","modified_gmt":"2012-05-05T10:06:34","slug":"deflated%e2%80%a6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=34","title":{"rendered":"Deflated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Like a sad, tired old balloon.<\/p>\n<p>My normal degree of energy, vitality, engagement and indeed good humour has fled.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday was not a good day and it finished in some not good style.<\/p>\n<p>Today is a downwards-sloping continuation of that mood.<\/p>\n<p>Reasons to be uncheerful? <em>(oh God, I can\u00e2&#8217;t believe I just did that to Ian Dury!)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Project 1:<\/strong> I don\u00e2&#8217;t know why but I continue to be surprised (impressed, even!) at the polished ability that software companies have to tell a pack of downright, blatant lies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project 2:<\/strong> I have a mental\u00a0question-mark\u00a0about the degree of senior management buy-in for another project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project 3:<\/strong> There\u00e2&#8217;s a doubt about the commercial understanding of another area of senior management.<\/p>\n<p>I fell asleep with these things in my head last night; they were still there this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Walking in from the car park I felt as though I was the central character in one of those clever TV adverts &#8211; where I&#8217;m standing still in my own world of isolation and the rest of humanity is speeding around me, carrying out their productive tasks like a team of worker ants.<\/p>\n<p>The only soundtrack that fitted my mood this morning was the haunting <em>Gong<\/em> by Sigur Ros.<\/p>\n<p>Isolated is the right word.<\/p>\n<p>R has her interview today, we had a brief deskside chat; she&#8217;ll be fine, I&#8217;m confident of her ability.<\/p>\n<p>Drinkies after work I reckon.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Like a sad, tired old balloon.
