{"id":406,"date":"2008-02-24T18:26:41","date_gmt":"2008-02-24T18:26:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=406"},"modified":"2008-02-24T20:54:24","modified_gmt":"2008-02-24T20:54:24","slug":"turkeys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=406","title":{"rendered":"Turkeys!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>This should so be a podcast item, there&#8217;s lots of audio potential with the right library files!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The people of Eire have chosen a puppet &#8211; Dustin the Turkey &#8211; to represent their country in the European Eurovision Song Contest.<\/p>\n<p>I <em>love<\/em> the Irish sense of humour!<\/p>\n<p>Only a country of  people with a brilliant and collective sense of the ironic could arrive at the blindingly simple logic that the <em>only<\/em> message (and the <em>only<\/em> messenger appropriate to carry it) to take to the Eurovision Song Contest is&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>A turkey &#8211; and not even a real one.<\/p>\n<p>Brilliant!<\/p>\n<p>The only problem with this plan is that neither the cabal of participating Baltic states nor the people who actually <em>run<\/em> the Eurovision Song Contest  have enough intelligence to receive the message in the truly heartfelt way that Eire (and probably most of Northern, Western and Southern Europe)  mean it.<\/p>\n<p>The gesture is single finger, just wish the people who it is directed at could understand the meaning.<\/p>\n<p>Well done Eire!<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>B<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This should so be a podcast item, there&#8217;s lots of audio potential with the right library files!
