{"id":50,"date":"2007-06-30T10:29:54","date_gmt":"2007-06-30T09:29:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=50"},"modified":"2007-06-30T10:33:21","modified_gmt":"2007-06-30T09:33:21","slug":"five-and-a-half-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=50","title":{"rendered":"Five and a half hours&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>No, not a title for a rude film.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the amount of time that it took to drive from Docklands to our home in Worcestershire yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Or, to put it another way, we travelled for five and a half hours at an average speed that was a fraction over 27 miles per hour.<\/p>\n<p>Welcome to the 21st century&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s just such a shame that <em>this<\/em> 21st century\u00c2\u00a0doesn&#8217;t have any of the swooshing about in unbeleivably fast\u00c2\u00a0transport capsules that I was promised when I was a boy.<\/p>\n<p>In our 21st century it takes three hours to get from east London to Oxford.<\/p>\n<p>Dick Turpin did it quicker on Black Bess!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Brennig.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>No, not a title for a rude film.
