Dodging the many thunderstorms The Lovely S and I stopped off at the yard on the way back from shopping in Worcester yesterday.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly we were the only ones there.<\/p>\n

Beech – as soon as he saw me – called out as if I was his long lost friend.<\/p>\n

Perhaps he knew I had apples for him.<\/p>\n

Surprisingly he doesn’t look in bad nick.<\/p>\n

Beech drops weight worryingly easily, he gets stressed and he’s never been the world’s best eater.<\/p>\n

At this time of year he’s usually looking his best but a couple of months of enforced box rest has left his coat looking scurfy and slightly dull.<\/p>\n

His eyes are clear though; he’s as alert and interested in everything that’s going on around him as Beech usually is.<\/p>\n

But he looks fed up; let’s face it, enforced box rest for months on end during the peak grass season…<\/p>\n

Poor love.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, elsewhere on the yard…<\/p>\n

The lorry has had a visit from the signwriter.<\/p>\n

The url for the main website (http:\/\/brennigjones.com<\/a>) is now blocked out in six-inch-high letters on the rear and both sides of the horsebox.<\/p>\n

As anyone who has achieved publication will tell you, an author is expected to undertake a programme of self-promotion.<\/p>\n

My cunning plan (Baldrick) is that the lorry will act as a mobile advertising bulletin board,<\/p>\n

As we travel around people will see the website address and (hopefully) check out what it’s all about.<\/p>\n

I’m not really aiming to increase book sales for Crossing The Line.<\/p>\n

All I’d like to achieve is to get the\u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u02dcbrand name’ (to use the marketing clich\u00c3\u00a9) further out in to the potential market-place.<\/p>\n
