{"id":5302,"date":"2011-07-09T11:13:11","date_gmt":"2011-07-09T10:13:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=5302"},"modified":"2011-07-11T10:33:37","modified_gmt":"2011-07-11T09:33:37","slug":"bt-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=5302","title":{"rendered":"BT again!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Commercial Credit Services,<\/p>\n<p>Re: Account number 0203xxxxxx<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your <strong>NOTIFICATION OF LEGAL PROCEEDINGS<\/strong> dated 6th July 2011 and received at my address on 9th July 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Your <strong>NOTIFICATION OF LEGAL PROCEEDINGS<\/strong> informs us that you are acting on behalf of BT and that you are attempting to collect a debt of \u00a376.94.<\/p>\n<p>Your NOTIFICATION also tells us that if this matter proceeds to court, the amount you will collect will be boosted by \u00a335 court fees, \u00a350 solicitors costs, \u00a30.51 statutory interest \u2013 to a grand total of \u00a3162.45.<\/p>\n<p>I wish to make the following points crystal clear to you.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>I do not owe BT \u00a376.94.<\/li>\n<li>I do not owe BT any money whatsoever<\/li>\n<li>BT and I agreed, last week, that since February 2011 BT have been billing me bogus sums of money for services I have not received<\/li>\n<li>BT have sent me written confirmation of this agreement, this week<\/li>\n<li>BT also agreed, in this confirmation, that I do not owe them any money<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>I wish I could say that receiving your NOTIFICATION OF LEGAL PROCEEDINGS was a surprise, but given the level of utter incompetence I have experienced at the hands of BT since February, absolutely nothing would surprise me about this organisation.<\/p>\n<p>I realise that you are only acting on instructions you have received from BT, but I would counsel you with several words of advice on this matter, before you take any further action.<\/p>\n<p>I would advise you to go back to BT and check, and get BT to double check, the instructions you have been given, and to ask them to do so very, very carefully.<\/p>\n<p>I would also advise you that if you intend to take me to court for a fictitious debt, that I will attend court with a Daily Mail journalist and a staff photographer.<\/p>\n<p>I would also advise you that if this claim proceeds to court &#8211; and when your ridiculous claim is thrown out &#8211; I will be taking legal proceedings against you for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A full day\u2019s wage (as a self-employed person, it is only fair that you reimburse me my contracted daily rate \u2013 a sum far in excess of \u00a3164.25 per day)<\/li>\n<li>Administrative and preparation time, as charged at the legal rate<\/li>\n<li>Travel expenses to the court<\/li>\n<li>An undisclosed sum for what is now a case of <strong>illegal harassment<\/strong> over a fabricated debt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note that I shall not enter in to any telephone conversation with you over this matter.
