{"id":568,"date":"2008-05-27T22:09:32","date_gmt":"2008-05-27T21:09:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=568"},"modified":"2015-02-25T20:37:24","modified_gmt":"2015-02-25T20:37:24","slug":"abbey-the-final-chapter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=568","title":{"rendered":"Abbey, the final chapter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Regulars will remember that we&#8217;ve had ongoing situations with Abbey National (details <a href=\"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=441\" title=\"first Abbey post\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=465\" title=\"second Abbey post\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of <em>this <\/em>post is to bring you the conclusion.<\/p>\n<p>In the last few weeks we had two letters from Abbey&#8217;s complaints department.<\/p>\n<p>The first letter was a &#8216;holding&#8217; device &#8211; saying, in essence, that the matter was still being looked in to.<\/p>\n<p>The second letter was apologetic, admitted there had been an error and concluded by saying the problem had been sorted and would not re-occur.<\/p>\n<p>And enclosing a cheque for \u00c2\u00a330 by way of compensation.<\/p>\n<p>So to the folks at Abbey National (I know their Fraud department look in from time to time!), we&#8217;d both like to say thank you.<\/p>\n<p>Abbey National may like to know that half of their compensation payment went to the International League for the Protection of Horses (ILPH).<\/p>\n<p>The other half went to the Alzheimers Society.<\/p>\n<p>On behalf of the ILPH (who today thanked me), I&#8217;d like to pass my thanks back to Abbey for their contribution.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m sure the Alzheimers Society are similarly grateful.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>B<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Regulars will remember that we&#8217;ve had ongoing situations with Abbey National (details here and here).
