I&#8217;m previewing tracks for the next podcast.<\/p>\n<p>I never thought I&#8217;d say this, but there is so much unplayed material in my play list we&#8217;re probably covered for the next year.<\/p>\n<p>And yet I&#8217;m still looking.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve just finished listening to a very endearing jazz\/blues mix sung by a female vocalist who sounds like a white Eartha Kitt. How beautifully mixed up is that combination? And it is. Beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>Currently pulverising my eardrums is a very loud piece of bass-driven German &#8216;Elektronik&#8217; that I can only describe as <em>The Son of &#8216;Big In Japan&#8217;<\/em> &#8211; that completely brilliant work by the much under-rated &#8217;80s synth band Alphaville:<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/mXPUkrz7Uow&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/mXPUkrz7Uow&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><\/embed><\/object><\/object> Pure 80s cheese &#8211; both that video and the track in my ears.<\/p>\n<p>Cheese with an extra portion of cheese on top. And a side order of cheese. With fromage.<\/p>\n<p>But just between the two of us?<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s brilliant!<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, we have another pre-release exclusive to play out this weekend. And no. It would be nothing to do with cheese.<\/p>\n<p>Gold, yes.<\/p>\n<p>But not cheese.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>B<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am sitting in the kitchen in London thoroughly enjoying myself.
