St George (a Greek guy), is\u00a0the Patron Saint of England.<\/p>\n
St George\u00a0is famous for killing a dragon.<\/p>\n
A creature that hasn’t actually ever existed.<\/p>\n
Erm.<\/p>\n
Is this right?<\/p>\n
It’s certainly true that, according to historical traces, St George was about as English as the late Grecian cleric, Archbishop Damaskinos Papandreou.<\/p>\n
And it is also true that Dragons haven’t ever walked this planet.<\/p>\n
So.<\/p>\n
I’m not sure who the biggest laugh is on, the English – for adopting this fabrication – or the Catholic Church – for bestowing a Sainthood on a Greek guy who killed something that doesn’t exist.<\/p>\n
