{"id":8898,"date":"2013-02-27T11:10:14","date_gmt":"2013-02-27T11:10:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=8898"},"modified":"2015-01-28T14:53:57","modified_gmt":"2015-01-28T14:53:57","slug":"twitter-blogathon-2728","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?p=8898","title":{"rendered":"Blogathon 27\/13 Twitter!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=8899\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8899\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-8899\" src=\"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/\/tweetdeck-idea-300x242.jpg\" alt=\"tweetdeck-idea\" width=\"300\" height=\"242\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/tweetdeck-idea-300x242.jpg 300w, https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/tweetdeck-idea-1024x828.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/brennigjones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/tweetdeck-idea.jpg 1067w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Twitter, in the last 24 hours, has given me two brilliant pieces of information.<\/p>\n<p>The first is an answer to one of those infuriating &#8216;What is this piece of music?&#8217; questions, that haunt our consciousness, from time to time.<\/p>\n<p>I recorded a clip of the earworm (because I knew where I could lay my hands on a few seconds of it, where it is used as a brief soundtrack on a 56-year old cartoon, that I was able to find on YouTube.<\/p>\n<p>Then I downloaded the music-finding app &#8216;Shazam!&#8217;, and played the clip in, and waited for Shazam&#8217;s! music databases to do their thing.<\/p>\n<p>Except it was more a case of &#8216;Shazcan&#8217;t!&#8217;, because the music-finding app was more rusty than trusty.<\/p>\n<p>It failed to find it.<\/p>\n<p>So I took the few seconds-long clip I had, and recorded an Audioboo.<\/p>\n<p>Then I put a link to the Audioboo recording out on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>The tweet was picked up by @thoughtcat, who retweeted it to his followers.<\/p>\n<p>And within minutes three of @thoughtcat&#8217;s followers &#8211; @TGG303, @newviv, and @AnyaMaj &#8211; had come back to me, with the information that the brief few seconds of recording belonged in Wagner&#8217;s Tannh\u00e4user, where it can be found in both the overture and the choral sections (where it is better known, in the latter, as the Pilgrim&#8217;s Chorus).<\/p>\n<p>How&#8217;s that for a top-class service?<\/p>\n<p>To (almost) round yesterday evening&#8217;s excellent Twitter experience off, within moments of getting the information I had nipped over to Amazon and downloaded the Tannh\u00e4user overture.<\/p>\n<p>Brilliant!<\/p>\n<p>The other thing that Twitter did for me, last night, was to answer the frequently asked question, regarding the final scene of the film Inception.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;was it real or was it all a dream&#8217; question.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, I have the answer.<\/p>\n<p>What?<\/p>\n<p>Tell you?<\/p>\n<p>Hmmm&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe tomorrow?<\/p>\n<p>Bwahahahahahahaaaaaa&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, the 56-year old cartoon?<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"420\" height=\"315\" classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/nI9Nbt7oJG0?hl=en_GB&amp;version=3&amp;rel=0\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><embed width=\"420\" height=\"315\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/nI9Nbt7oJG0?hl=en_GB&amp;version=3&amp;rel=0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Twitter, in the last 24 hours, has given me two brilliant pieces of information.
