I’ve been thinking about updating the look and feel of this website for months.<\/p>\n

The old ‘school exercise book’ design has done a good job for years. It was an easy design to tinker with.<\/p>\n

I had, over time, added strings of custom .php to tweak and fine-tune (and sometimes I’d added strings of custom .php just because I fancied playing with strings of custom .php code).<\/p>\n

But the old design wasn’t fully ‘mobile device compatible’, and that had been niggling at me, for the last six months or so.<\/p>\n

Lately I have been working on two diverse websites.<\/p>\n

From scratch, for a friend, I’ve designed and built a cookery and recipe-based, magazine-style website, blog and forum<\/a>.<\/p>\n

That’s the kind of thing that could happen to you, if you happen to mention an idea while I’m within earshot. Be warned.<\/p>\n

The other development I’ve recently delivered is a political magazine and forum<\/a> (which, by the way, is seeking to add to its stable of contributors).<\/p>\n

The point is, that working on these two projects has reinforced on me just how much in need of a good design revamp and tech update this place is.<\/p>\n

Was.<\/p>\n

Because as you can see *waves hand around* I’ve finished the makeover.<\/p>\n

And added a few little bits of functionality – you should see what I’ve done behind the scenes!<\/p>\n

Because I am, after all, the geek who puts the fun into functionality.<\/p>\n
