It also has a rotatable lense which could be a very handy thing.

The Drift Ghost comes in at £250.

And then there’s the Go Pro. The big problem I have with the Go Pro is that it is as streamlined as half a housebrick. And the core attachment (for motorcyclists) seems to be via a suction-mounted arm (which makes the motorcyclist look like s/he is an alien with a damaged antennae).

The Go Pro Black Edition comes in at £370.

In the technical world, both cameras offer 30fps at 1080p, though at 960p the Drift Ghost outstrips the Go Pro’s 30fps, but offering 30fps, 48fps, and 50fps.

As far as battery power goes, the Drift Ghost ranks the better product, with a manufacturer’s stated 3h, against the Go Pro’s 2.30m.

And let’s not forget the Drift Ghost’s rotatable lense.

And the streamlining.

And the fact that the Drift Ghost is £120 cheaper (£250 versus £370, plus I can get £25 discount from the Drift Ghost, bringing it down to £225).

Also, in choosing the Go Pro, one has to buy the mounts separately, whilst the mounts for the Drift Ghost come with the camera as inclusive items.

In a straightforward good v bad on paper, the Drift Ghost is miles ahead of the Go Pro.

The streamlining, plus the rotatable lense, are big wins (as is the price).

But how do they stack up in quality of video and audio?

Baron von Grumble uses a Drift Ghost with a helmet mic plugged in to it.

I don’t know any motorcyclists who use a Go Pro (though I have seen several out on the road), to compare.

So I found this…

I have been comparing the two leading action cameras (with half an eye on when I replace the cheap and nasty camera that I use

[1

post-9778","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-stuff","two-columns
["GET
