It ain’t where you think it is

You know when you walk into a room and you’ve already forgotten what it was you walked into the room for?

Well this isn’t that story.

Earlier in lockdown the ZX10-R was due it’s annual service.

I bought her – exactly four years ago – from Leicester Kawasaki. They’ve looked after the bike since day one. They even did the repair after the unfortunate incident.

So last month, when lockdown restrictions had eased a little, I went on the Leicester Kawasaki website, took their number, called them up, asked for service, and booked a slot for the following Saturday.

I arrived at Leicester Kawasaki 15 minutes early but there was a problem. The showroom was shut up, there was no stock on display, and a big sign on the window said Leicester Kawasaki had moved to Croft Motorcycles in Hinckley.

Well.

A dash all the way over to Hinckley via the M1 and a bunch more roads, happened. And the Ninja was duly serviced.

When I picked her up I asked the guy when Leicester Kawasaki closed.

Christmas.

  1. The reason you forget why you went into the room, is because when you went in, it was full of aliens and the Men In Black zapped you with their memory eraser zappy thing so you wouldn’t remember.
    True.

Just as well you arrived at the store early, wasn’t it!
