At 20.45z yesterday I watched a spaceship approach a planet 470 million km away from here, at 19,000km/hour. I watched this on my phone.
At 20.50z I flipped the real-time video from my phone onto our smart TV, and continued watched the staff in the NASA mission control centre as the spaceship executed a controlled landing on that distant planet.
This whole thing is awesome.
It damn well is. And to have pictures of the Martian surface just minutes after touchdown is amazing.
