If a picture paints a thousand words

Then why can’t I paint you? The words will never show the you I’ve come to know.

I guess my street cred is now in tatters, quoting from Bread’s 1971 single ‘If’? Oh well.

  1. His registered name is Dubious Deal. He’s known in various circles as Vin. Or sometimes B*st*rd. 🙂 Yeah. Not a bad day. 🙂 How was yours?

  2. Vin is looking very handsome! is he being good? When are you first heading out BE? We did Aldon Sat, looks awful on paper but not too bad really, just wish fence judges could tell the difference between a stop and stopping way away from the fence when you’re lost >:-(

  3. Hiyer Vicky me old mucker! (sorry. I’m high on caffeine!)

Vin is handsome. But thanks for that. He takes after me in so many different ways. 🙂 First BE (touch wood) Broadway (1) which is Badminton weekend. I’m hoping that we can flash our way around Broadway while the cognoscenti is distracted by Badders. Sadly Vin is not being good. He seems to have forgotten how to canter on the left lead. And I’ve just had a call from the yard to say that this afternoon he came in stiff – they think he either rolled on a stone or fell over whilst twatting about. We were going SJ this weekend but that’s now in serious doubt.

Well, if you need a really kind, understanding and forgiving fence judge, let me know. 🙂 I’ve just checked your score – but wow! That’s a seriously good dressage mark – and against some very top top top opposition. Congratulations!

  4. Vin is a very handsome chap isn’t he? Entertaingly I had to look twice at the photo you took in the mirror as the colour of your jods made it look at first glance like you’d taken a pic of yourself with no trousers on. Hope Vin’s stiffness is on the mend, poor lad, give him a polo mint from me!

  5. Vicola wins a virtual prize for getting jodhpurs, trousers and stiffness in to one paragraph all in context. 🙂

Jo, I didn’t know you rode. Horses. Tell us more.

  6. Hi! Have you come down from your caffeine yet? I’m thinking I need to try and wean myself off of it as I’m getting headaches when I don’t have any (caffeine!) for a couple of hours – I don’t think that’s good!

Thanks for the comment about the dressage – was pleased with it, especially as we had a slight paddy about coming back from medium canter which gave us a 5 for that movement – he wanted to keep going fast! The rest of the test, including counter canter which we haven’t done in a comp before was really pleasing….

I will call on you for your fence judging expertise!

Hope Vin is ok soon and remembers how to canter on the left leg!!! Good luck at Broadway, I think I am doing Bickenhall on my ‘other horse’ that weekend…

    xx

  7. S. Le, I see you are a librarianist. So is Soph. She reads many librarianesque blogs. 🙂

  8. P.S. Soph is lovely! She should write her own blog! I’ve read some of her posts here. I would read her blog as well.
