As my vision prescription hasn’t changed over the last 2-1/2 years, I had no real need to buy new glasses. Except I did. What if, I asked myself, I was out in the Irish Sea/North Atlantic/South Pacific (delete as appropriate) and I lost my Tom Fords overboard? That wouldn’t make too much difference on the boat, but when I needed to drive back home? Yep, that’s when I’d feel the loss.
So I went on this Internet contraption and entered all of my vision details and my credit card info into a website. A couple of weeks later a spiffy pair of nice new glasses rocked up in the post. The objective is that I’ll leave my Tom Fords in the car when I arrive at Deganwy, and go sailing in my new spiffy specs.
The new bins cost £15 which, frankly, isn’t to be sneezed at, esp when my Tom Fords cost £300 for the frames alone! I shall revisit the website for a pair of prescription sunnies, and then I’ll be covered for every eventuality. Marvellous.
Told you before: a bit of string so they hang around your neck.

Unless you use Tom Ford string: 300 pounds.
I shall be using the bit of string tool for the new spiffy spex too
