Continuing the shift from what passes for our normal Bank Holiday behaviour…
For some reason we woke up early this morning, 07.00 early.
When we’d done the morning things around the bedroom, bathroom and rest of the house we drove to Costa in Witney for a takeaway Latté and *cough* a slice of cake and then we drove to Ascott-under-Wychwood to spectate at a Pony Club One Day Event.
We watched a little dressage, walked the cross-country course, had chats with a few people we know and watched some nice riding/jumping.
Then we walked back to the main arena via the refreshment stall where some *cough* healthy food was eaten and quite a bit of show-jumping was watched.
Soph was knackered by this point.
When we’d had our fill of food and spectating we drove back in to Witney where we hit Argos for a hundred quid’s-worth of gear, loaded up the car and drove home.
We unloaded, carried our goods upstairs and in to our newly-cleared spare bedroom, then built the first item, a book-case for the inside of the walk-in cupboard, which Soph began packing.
We started building our second purchase, a two-drawer filing cabinet. Then a colleague of Soph’s popped round and we had gossips and delivered pizza and many cups of tea.
Now it’s just the two of us, sitting here watching the recorded Dr Who Special.
I’m knackered.
Where, I wonder, did you find the energy? A lot was accomplished it seems.
How many cups of tea does it take building a two-drawer filing cabinet?
Think yourself lucky. Me and the other half spent the bank holiday weekend de-cluttering the house to get it valued, so now not only are we both knackered but I’m not speaking to him either. What fun.
