One for the spotters

This afternoon, at about 15.35 zulu, I saw this aircraft land at EGVN:

It is an A320-212, registration mark JY-AYI, operated by the Jordan-based Royal Wings airline.

If anyone has information on this aircraft or the airline, could you please contact me.

Thanks.

  1. Thanks for this. I’m interested in the airline’s history and it’s clientèle, not that specific aircraft; and very interested in the aircraft that followed it in to EGVN.

  2. Yeh! I did think you meant the airline rather than the aircraft – A320s are as common as muck! Having worked in aerospace for a number of years, I can honestly say I have never heard of that operator. And I used to look after the Sultan of Oman’s aircraft!

  3. Ah. No. The aircraft that followed JY-AYI was definitely in their livery. Interestingly, it wouldn’t be the first aircraft that doesn’t exist, to land at EGVN in the last six months. And there are subsidiary questions like; why did JY-AYI *and* the following aircraft both have ADS-B switched off?

  4. Hmm, I see where you’re coming from now.

I was working on site at the industrial estate slap next to the runway for a few weeks.

Can’t say I ever saw a ‘proper’ commercial flight land.
