The first track in my All-Time Top 25 Tunes is number 6, the awesome, defining ‘Take Five’ by Dave Brubeck.

My father was a jazz DJ in the late ’50’s. When he left the station, he ‘borrowed’ a fine selection of records: Brubeck, Mulligan, Tjader, Baker. Many of them were on the ‘Fantasy’ label, so the records were in sundry colors: gold, green, red.

They sound good even today.
