Yeah, withdrawing was so the right thing to do!
A text arrived this afternoon from the yard:
Good news!* Emma found quite a lot wrong with Vin. Mainly right hip, left shoulder. You’ll need to build his confidence up over some smaller fences again. He’ll still be expecting jumping to hurt for a few times.
Well yes, good news indeed.
But I should have picked up on this sooner, I should have been more in tune with him.
But I am happy – and relieved! – that the problem’s been identified and treated. He can have a few weeks off as far as competing goes, and probably no Eventing until well in to next month.
My poor boy; I’m both glad and sad at the same time.
*The use of the words ‘Good news’ reflect joy that the problem that Vin has been having with his jumping has been identified and fixed – and that it’s not a psychological problem or a deeper (veterinary) issue.
B.
Lets hope he makes a quick recovery!
Glad that your equine activities are in legible form. 🙂
Poor Vin, no wonder he was off. Hope that he has a good rest and is soon back on form and rearing to go. Perhaps I should have rephrased that …… 🙂
