WTF?

I’ve just gone past a shop that declares itself to be a ‘Specialist Dry Cleaner’.

What?

Does this mean they only clean ‘specialist’ clothes?

Or that they clean ordinary clothes in a very specialist way (i.e. using dry cleaning techniques handed down from generation to generation of pixie)?

  1. I think the word ‘specialist’ is used far too flippantly.

    I’ve often seen signs on shops and on the sides of vans proclaiming to be “Venetian Blind Specialists” or “Sat-Nav Specialists” or some such.

    All they really mean is that they SELL venetian blinds and sat-navs.
