There, I said it.
I’ll say it again.
The Hunger Games is rubbish.
Huge tracts of the media industry are cranking out a sickening level of PR-related guff, ramming the release, on DVD, of the film The Hunger Games, down our throats.
The aim is simple, to make the DVD-buying public load themselves up with as many Blu-Ray and non-Blu-Ray versions of The Hunger Games as possible.
But don’t fall for it.
The film – The Hunger Games – is crashingly mediocre.
Get a copy of the Japanese film Battle Royale from your DVD rentaliser instead.
Leaner, tighter, better scripted, better acted, better directed and all on a fraction of the budget of The Hunger Games.
Oh yeah, and both films portray what is basically the same story.
So don’t watch the substandard American film; watch the original – and so much better – Japanese film.
I went to the pictures to see The Hunger Games. Couldn’t see what all the fuss was about. Nothing special.
It reminded me of Logan’s Run.
You know what the French call The Hunger Games? Battle Royale with cheese.
(that’s a Pulp Fiction joke – almost. I’ll get me coat).
BTW, still interested in Aceing it one Sunday?
Oh yeah, definitely still interested. It’s just finding the time that’s difficult. This weekend is out as I decided to have a go at fitting the new shower today – and you know how frustrating and time consuming THAT can be. Probably have it done by Thursday week at this rate.
Shall we pencil the Ace in for next Sunday (23rd)? I’ll check with my diary and the boss that I’m free and confirm with you via email… your comments box ain’t the best way to make these sort of arrangements methinks!
Oh.
I really liked it.
