A song that makes me sad
To pick just one?
For many reasons too boring to mention here, there are dozens (probably hundreds) of songs with the power to make me sad. And I love them as much as I love the happy-inducing songs.
But the one that springs immediately to mind right now is a song from Bruce Springsteen’s glory glory days of song-writing; from the time of his life when he wrote stories in exactly the way he seems to be unable now.
This song is a poignantly beautiful tale of what could have been. And maybe what should have been.
The story within the story is desperately gorgeous.

Didn’t know this one at all. Excellent. I shall be adding this to my playlist for definite. Like the re-use of the “dancing in the street” couplet.

Not heard that before. Not surprising really, as I don’t own any of Springsteen’s work.
But that was nice… in a sad way.
