Two of the inhabitants in da house are highly-seeded competitors in the 2021 quarter finals for World’s Fussiest Eater. They’re in different heats so I expect them to meet each other in the grand final. It’ll be an interesting clash of the titans, immovable object, unstoppable force, etc.
Although I’m much less fussy (they call me the dustbin in these parts), I don’t eat curry. Not because I don’t like it, but because it doesn’t like me. And lamb, I’m not too keen on lamb but that’s because I’m Welsh. Probably. Or probably not.
Anyway.
The village pub (which is closed because of Lockdown 3.0, obviously) is doing take-away food three nights a week.
Thursday night is theme night. Last Thursday, for example, it was pizza night, with a range of crusts and styles of toppings to be chosen from. Yesterday it was burger night with a wide selection of types and styles of various burger-related food. But that’s what happens on Thursdays.
On Fridays and Saturdays they do a menu of ‘pub classics’. The choices are not exactly identical each week, but there are a few old favourites that crop up on a recurring theme.
In celebration of the two fussy eaters not being here this weekend we are discussing the possibility of giving the village pub/takeaway restaurant our patronage.
Here’s the menu for this week. What would you choose?

Hunter’s Chicken for me, please, with a side order of onion rings.
And the cheesecake.
And a pint of John Smiths.
Thank you.
In the absence of the Steak and Ale Pie, I’ll have what you’re having.
Probably the Lamb Pie. Definitely the cheesecake. And probably lager to drink. And maybe some cheese and onion crisps. Proper ones that Mr Lineker tries to keep for himself. You can’t get them here and I miss them

Apparently I am having seconds as well.
Hahahahahaaa 🙂
It’s a toss up from the two entries on the kids’ menu for me. And it looks like salted caramel is a global fashion statement then. I’m properly tired of salted caramel-this, salted caramel-that. The only worse ‘fashion’ (in NZ at least) is “butter chicken flavour”. Pies? Yech! I’m honestly expecting butter chicken chocolate before long. Because salted caramel chocolate, well that’s already been done. To death.
There’s usually a Steak and Ale Pie, but they’re resting it this week
