And she’s out

And she’s out

Good Mood has been lifted out of the water and is now sat in a cradle waiting for things to be done. The joblist has come a long way since I wrote the original; and the boat and I have notched up about 250nm over 2021.

I want to do more next year, and I want to expand and build on what I’ve learned, and want to learn so much more. I’ve signed up for a course in the new year, which should give me a strong grounding in theoretical skills. And as soon as the boat is back on the water, I want to add practical experience to the theory.

There are a couple of sailing clubs in the Conwy/Deganwy area that have events which look quite useful. One of them is having a club sail to the Isle of Man in the Spring. This is the sort of thing that would be a good experience, as well as significantly boosting the miles on my sailing log. No decisions on this yet. Let’s get as many of the Winter jobs done as I can.

  1. She’s certainly a nice-looking vessel.

IMHO though, Winter is a time for being indoors in front of a roaring storage heater, watching telly with a hot cup of cocoa, not being outside in the cold scraping barnacles off a boat’s bum.

And that’s why they threw me out of the Navy.

    1. I sort of agree with you, but I’m temporarily confined to barracks and I would much rather be up in North Wales working on the boat
