It’s early days, here in Young Masher’s Annual Blogathon Challenge, but the struggle is real. We strive to post one blogpost a day for the month of February and that’s about it. Not much difficult about this really, in the grand scheme of things. Except when it is. So I thought I’d tell you about a blog I read now and then which, in terms of blogging frequency puts things into perspective.
I subscribe to the Diamond Geezer’s blog rss feed, and I try to read (or at worst, scan through) his blog posts whenever I am able. I said ‘try to read’ and ‘whenever I am able’ because this guy is superprolific. I think he writes a blogpost a day, every day. Every single day (or very nearly that). Not only does he achieve this, but the research he puts in to his posts is tremendous. He is detailed in his approach to every topic, meticulous to a level that I can only gaze at. Yes, his work is London-focussed, and largely focussed around his particular corner of London, but that’s not a bad thing. Even though London is a foreign place to me these days, I frequently find Diamond Geezer an interesting and informative read.
The effort that he’s put into just this one post is indicative of the work this chap puts into his writing. I can only sit here and gaze in wonderment.
I know!
I too ocasionally scan through DG’s posts and I’ve often wondered how he finds the time to write such long and detailed posts.
He’s been doing it it for a long time, too.
I think he posts and later deletes blogposts that he’s not happy with! A couple of times I’ve gone back to reread something and have been unable to find it.
