As you may have guessed from my train woes, I recently had a trip to Bristol. The reason for going through the self-inflicted meat-grinder torture that is a four-leg world of train pain was to see my offspring. In the evening we had Mexican dinner and a cocktail and a good old-fashioned catch-up. It was a very pleasant time.
The following morning I attended her confirmation where she was awarded a First Class Honours Degree in Law. It means she can put the initials LLB after her name. When she was called forward I was incredibly proud and shed a little tear.
During the social gathering afterwards, I met one of her main tutors. He was charming and said some very nice things. He also said her dissertation was so good he was going to use it as a teaching aid for next year’s students. At this point I became just a little bit more proud.
A chip off the ol’ block, eh?
Good for her. Nice one.
