‘Just a pile of old gold I haven’t used in ages.’
These were the words of a woman featured in an advert on commercial radio. The advert was for a company that buys gold. The interviewer asked the woman what she’d brought in today and her response was ‘Just a pile of old gold I haven’t used in ages.’
‘How much did you get?’ asked the interviewer. ‘£1,000!’ replied the woman.
This exchange makes me wonder what kind of people have ‘a pile of old gold’ just lying about the place gathering dust?
My missus, that’s who.
Her jewelry box is full of gold bracelets and earings and pendants that I have bought her over the years, hardly any of which she still wears. 🙁
Gosh. For some reason I’m amazed. Perhaps it’s a nest egg?
