Look, I know (amongst many different types of people but amongst motorbikers in particular) there are testy discussions about what constitutes a good breakfast (and here I’m lumping the All Day Breakfast into this discussion). I am fully aware that amongst my leather-clad bretheren, the topic of Good Breakfast vs Reasonable Price goes out of fashion as often as something which never goes out of fashion (IYSWIM). It is a fixed topic, a hardy annual, if you will (not that I’m into any form of gardening although I will mow the lawn when it needs doing).
There is an app and a website and a FB group dedicated to putting the locations of Good Breakfast Venues on a map. I think it was through that website I found the rather marvellous and waistband expanding Two Flags, a venue Young Masher and I have troubled.
Well, the other night Reddit offered me a sub called r/fryup so I poked my nose in to see what it was all about. The first post I found was this:
And in a ‘hold the black pudding but I’ll have everything else’ kind of way, this looks fantastic. The price is right too, but Edinburgh is a bit of a trek so I’ll give it a miss for now.
I’ll also be giving this one a miss, but for a couple of reasons:
I don’t believe I’ve ever been in a Wetherspoons, but looking at the insipid nonsense on that plate, I won’t be walking through their doors anytime soon.
Anyway, more random nonsense in due course.
Two Flags was a cracking find.
We really should do it again… before the bad weather comes.
