Dannii Minogue, one of the panel of four judges on the British television ‘reality’ talent show X-Factor, had an unfortunate lapse of intelligence this evening.
Ms Minogue had a very obvious and completely misjudged dig at the sexuality of one of the competitors on X-Factor.
I can’t help wondering how the gay and lesbian community will feel about this, especially as a significant proportion of the gay and lesbian community will have put an even more significant amount of money in to Ms Minogue’s bank account – particularly following her appearance at the 1998 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras.
Someone should tell Dannii that she needs to stick to judging talent and not get in to the judging sexuality game.
Someone should also tell Ms Minogue that the contestant in question is a teacher, and that children who attend his school would have been watching.
Completely unacceptable behaviour from Dannii Minogue, there can be no excuse for this at all.
She wasn’t having a go at all. People are really taking it out of context.
Danyl change the lyrics in the song so that it would be targeted towards the heterosexual audience, but he has stated many times he likes men more than women, so Danni basically said why change the lyrics to suit others when its your time, your interpretation of the song.
Who is Danii Minogue?
I agree with you that she probably shouldn’t have said it … but I think calls for her to be sacked, beheaded, exiled etc are a bit over the top. It was a slip up (a bit of banter?) and I’m sure she won’t do it again.
I keep laughing at all the furore over this. Danni knows he’s bi, she has been a huge supporter of LGB charities for years and this was in no way a dig at his sexuality. The people having a fit over it are the straight ones who are far too pc for their own good!
I found it a pretty damn clever comment from her, and danyl should have given her and then simon a damn big wink!
While it is definately not an excuse, a possible reason for Ms Minogue’s slip up is that she is as thick as two short planks and is missing that bit of the brain that tells you not to voice the thought that just flashed across your brain….
I didn’t see this – but agree its outrageous. Apparently Simon Cowell also posited pole dancing as a good career move for women….
*bangs head*
WHO FECKING CARES?!!
