This has been rumbling around my head for a little while so, this evening as I was deleting SMS messages from my phone while waiting for The Lovely S, I made a note of a few texts that I’ve received in the last couple of weeks.
They come in reverse chronological order (most recent first, oldest last).
Whilst it’s obvious who sent some and what they’re about, figuring out who sent the rest taxed even my little head!
“Boy in bath with his mum. Boy says what’s that hairy thing? Mum replies that’s my sponge! Oh yes says boy, auntie has one. I’ve seen her wash dad’s face with it.”
“Latest, I’ve moved. Thanks.”
“I’ve put a reminder on the board!”
“Lol! Just heard the Cheggae song! Lol!”
“Race ya! Just going past the sorting office.”
“Found the cheque thanks. No idea what’s on!”
“£371 exactly.”
“Yr lorry’s passed. Invoice and paperwork in cab. CU soon.”
“How are you feeling now? Hope you’re ok. Been to UCE and got some books out. Just waiting at New St now. Having some lunch”
“Is it the yellow 1 like last year?”
“It’s not enough for our neighbour to smoke in his back garden to annoy us. Oh no, he also finds me in town and smokes while I’m eating my jacket potato. The bastard!”
“It’s a beautiful day and I love my life!”
“No! You can just peer round behind and see it usually.”
“We need some tomatoes and mushrooms as well if you’ve not been to Morrisons yet.”
“To Equestrian Services. Will be £90 for both.”
“You’ll be fine. Good luck. Just had Sunday lunch followed by apple crumble. Woo!”
“I know! The traffic driving past me must think I’m insane!”
“Umm… frozen peas? Think that’s is.”
“I’d had a brilliant day… until you told me that. Now consumed with jealousy. Oh, except I had a massive poo when i got to work this mornihg. 🙂 Sorry about that! lol”
“All of the above! I suspect an infected tooth.”
“Don’t think mine’s going anywhere for a while yet.”
“Thank you for last night. i feel really positive and good today. i don’t tell you this often enough. i really love you. have a fab day.”
🙂
