I am not well.
No!
Please, you have to at least try to keep that massive outpouring of grief and sympathy in check.
It’s just a flesh wound tummy bug and, I’m sure, I shall be back to my normal rude health tomorrow.
But being of not rude health is obviously affecting my head.
Or my heart.
Or both.
This story on the BBC has got me absolutely furious – here’s the gist, in a copy and paste kind of way:
A teenaged boy who raped two seven-year-old boys has been given a three-year community rehabilitation order.
The youth, 16, who cannot be named because of his age, admitted two counts of rape against the boys at Manchester Crown Court at an earlier hearing.
The boy, from Longsight in Manchester, was also given a six-month curfew.
Now ask yourself these two simple questions:
- Do you think this boy’s punishment would have been the same if he had raped two seven-year-old *girls*?
- Do you think the courts should punish sexual assaults on males with the same degree of severity as sexual assaults on females?
I’m actually finding it very difficult to keep a lid on my anger over this.
Close to boiling over.
Might actually explode.
Or spontaneously combust.
Or something.
Agree 100%! If they call it ‘rape’ then it’s rape. The end. I keep trying to think of justifications for this thinking, but it seems too obvious.
Interesting. Just looked up a well known NZ case – “The broomstick boys” – they ended up serving their prison sentences as home detention.
That is shocking…… what reason did they give for treating the crime so leniently?
Trust your perkiness returns shortly.
Not cat poo related is it?
Rape is rape, be it on a male or female and it should all be treated with the same degree of severity. If it alleviates your anger any, you can rest assured that alongside a fair proportion of Longsight youths, this little shit will be in Strangeways before his 20th birthday and not for the last time either. Longsight is a shithole. Fact.
Oh, and forgot to say, hope you’re fully recovered from your problem and back to full health!
